Position Summary

Overview:

The Democratic National Committee is seeking an Early Vote Engineering Manager, based in Wilmington, DE, to support the Biden campaign and Democrats up and down the ballot. We are looking for folks with a variety of backgrounds and experience, and are dedicated to building a team that looks like America.

 

This position reports to the Early Vote Analytics Director.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with members of the analytics team, external stakeholders, vendors, and partner organizations to prioritize, brainstorm, schedule, and implement engineering work.
  • Manage a small team of analytics engineers focused on early and absentee vote data pipelines.
  • Actively develop and maintain core data pipelines, syncs, and workflows that support the ingestion, standardization, and quality of early vote data
  • Communicate with stakeholders to understand needs and communicate clear deliverables and deadlines across teams.

 

Preferred Skills & Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience managing or taking a senior role in projects applying data, engineering, or advanced analytics tools in a business, campaign, or non-profit setting.
  • 3+ years using SQL, Python, and other scripting languages professionally.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience, both in writing and verbally.

 

Additional Useful Skills & Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with dbt, Airflow, Google BigQuery, or other technologies in our stack.
  • Experience with early vote, absentee vote, or other similar administrative data.
  • A desire to thrive in a fast-paced work environment and implement creative solutions to unique problems.

The starting salary for this position is $100,000, on an annualized basis, commensurate with experience and qualifications. This is a full-time position that may require work on weekends. This is an exempt position. This role is not BU eligible as it will exist for less than 6 months.
