Information Technology Specialist

Position Summary

Farm Sanctuary is a nonprofit founded in 1986. We’re dedicated to combating the abuses of factory farming, advocating for institutional reforms, and encouraging a new awareness and understanding of farm animals and the benefits of cruelty-free, plant-based living. Additionally, we are a social justice organization and are advocating for a kinder, more compassionate world—a world where every individual is respected and free from harm.

What we’re looking for:

We’re looking for an IT Specialist. You don’t have to know everything. However you do know how to use your resources, research an issue, and think on your feet.

Must haves:

• Be a problem solver – you listen to a user, help decipher their description of an issue, validate the issue and resolve the issue in a timely manner.
• You’re a good communicator – you provide status updates on projects and support issues in a timely manner. Additionally, you can write clear step-by-step instructions.
• You’re experienced – GSuite Administration, network troubleshooting, Zoom and Google Meet, and general Mac/Windows/Chrome OS troubleshooting.
• You excel at customer service – you’re honest about your limitations, aren’t afraid to ask or learn something new. You’re also not afraid to pick up the phone or jump on a video chat to help resolve an issue quickly.
• You love the cloud.

Nice to haves:

• You have experience leading an IT project or two.
• You know good lighting techniques, a little about AV production, and video editing.
• You know what 2FA is and know a thing or two about best in class security practices.
• You have a desire to learn more and keep yourself knowledgeable about technology.

What you will do:

• You’ll answer tickets in our IT HelpDesk ticket queue.
• Help keep our network infrastructure and services up and running.
• Help update our legacy infrastructure to cloud first infrastructure.
• As needed, educate staff on how to use apps, services, or software.
• Spend time with some amazing people and hangout with the sanctuary animals.

Salary Range:

The salary for this position starts at $45,000/yr and is dependent on experience.
