Change the Game is so excited to announce that applications are open for our first ever Intermediate Data Academy. Applications are open through April 9th so please share with your networks and urge folx to apply.

Our Intermediate Data Academy will build off of our Beginner Academy’s curriculum and will cover:

• Creating a living database through connected Sheets;

• Learning & using Python;

• Creating dashboards using Google Data Studio;

• Reporting, presenting your findings and data visualizations;

• Understanding and utilizing API’s

• An introduction to R; and

• An overview of mapping.

This Academy is formatted to include the following:

• Live Zoom Classroom activity based trainings;

• Small mentor-led group work;

• Projects & activities;

• Office hours and one-on-one support;

• At your own pace courses on our online learning platform; and

• Career development and placement support.

When is the Academy?

The Intermediate Academy will run April 26th – May 7th from 5:00pm to 9:00pm Eastern Time.

How much does it cost to attend?

We asked for a $250 suggested donation.

At Change the Game, it’s important that everyone who wants to participate in our training has the opportunity to do so, which is why we ask for a suggested donation instead of a tuition for this course. We know that this year has been full of challenges and hardships for folks, and want you to know that an inability to pay our suggested donation does not make you ineligible for this academy.

Who should apply?

We’re looking for folx who have worked as entry level data staffers in the progressive space with at least one cycle under their belt, or graduates from our 2020 beginner academy. It’s important for participants to have a firm grasp on SQL and Google Sheets/Excel, in order to be able to get started on Python.

Participants should be able to attend all live sessions and are expected to complete projects & homework on their own. There is a lot to learn in a short time, and we want to make sure graduates leave with the tools, skills and connections needed to grow as professionals.
