Survey Analyst (Contract)
Position Summary
The Position
UpTogether is looking for a Survey Analyst for a contract position (1099) to analyze longitudinal survey data from the Austin Family Stabilization Fund. The baseline survey was deployed in June-July 2024 and the final report is publicly available. The midline survey will be deployed in January 2025, and the endline will be deployed in May 2025.
The Survey Analyst will be responsible for analyzing survey data and preparing reports in the format of a slide deck with insights and data visualizations. The report should follow the same general outline as the baseline report, with a focus on longitudinal analysis. The R scripts used to clean and analyze data for the baseline report and the survey analysis plan will be shared with the Survey Analyst.

- November 5 – December 19: Midline survey deployed
- August 1, 2025: Endline survey report due
- June 30: First draft of endline survey report due

- May 6 – 30: Endline survey deployed

Qualifications, Attributes & Skills
- Experience analyzing survey data, including both open-ended and closed-ended questions
- Experience writing up insights and key takeaways from survey analysis for non-technical audiences
- Proficient in data cleaning, analysis, and data visualization using R
- Excellent written communication skills
- Knowledge of ethical practices for human subject research, including data privacy and security
- Domain expertise in social policy and anti-poverty programs is a plus
- Demonstrated commitment to, or passion for, our mission; deep belief and trust in the innate capabilities of low-income families and communities
- Strong commitment to anti-racism and demonstrated interest in helping build systems that advance racial equity
This role reports to the Director of Analytics at UpTogether. This is a 100% remote position, but must be based in the United States. The successful candidate will have a reliable internet connection and functional work environment.
Compensation
The Survey Analyst will bill UpTogether for hours spent on the project after submitting the final midline report and the final endline report. The hourly rate for this contract position (1099) is $50-$75/hr based on experience. This position is not benefits-eligible. A maximum of 160 hours can be billed for the full contract (including both reports).
